Town's poor away start to the season continued with a 4-0 defeat at West Brom. The Blues went behind to Ishmael Miller's goal during a first half dominated by the home side. Town improved after the break but were hit by a late three-goal salvo from Filipe Teixeira and Kevin Phillips (2).

Striker Jon Walters was the star as Town came from behind to beat Rushden and Diamonds 2-1 at Nene Park. The former Chester man impressed throughout and netted Town's first goal, Gary Roberts scoring the winner.

Neil Alexander has joined the Blues on a free from Cardiff, while Tommy Miller and Pablo Couñago have returned to Portman Road after being released by Sunderland and Málaga respectively.

Striker Billy Clarke has been named in the Republic of Ireland U21 squad for a friendly with Holland in Venlo on Tuesday, 27th March. Clarke won his first U21 cap in last month's game against Slovakia at the Madeira tournament.
